Interim IT leadership · Transition · Turnaround · Execution

Not a report. Someone who gets it done.

DV Advisory Consulting delivers senior IT leadership inside your organisation when waiting is not an option: the departure of an IT manager, stalled ERP or cloud projects, integrations after an acquisition, or IT departments that need to get back on track.

Temporary by definition. With a mandate, budget responsibility and a clear handover from day one.

Four types of assignments, one constant: execution.

Every mandate is temporary by definition — with a clear end point, a secured handover and an organisation that can carry on without me.

Execution after advice

There is already a report, a scan or a strategy — from us or from another firm. Now it needs to happen.

  • Implementation of scan results
  • From roadmap to working result
  • Realisation of savings plans
  • Anchoring & knowledge transfer

Recognisable situations.

A mandate rarely starts with a plan. It starts with a situation that cannot wait.

→

"Our IT manager has left."

And the search for a successor takes six months. Who manages the team and the vendors in the meantime?

→

"The ERP project is stuck."

Budget exceeded, deadline missed, vendor and business pointing at each other. Someone has to make the calls.

→

"We just acquired a company."

Two IT environments, duplicate contracts, one deadline from the shareholders. The integration needs to be led.

→

"The report is there. Now what?"

The analysis is done, the board agrees — but nobody internally has the time or experience to execute it.

Every mandate has three phases.

However different the situations, the structure is always the same: first control, then delivery, then an ending that is planned from day one.

1

Day 1–30: control

Conversations with management, team and vendors. Finances, contracts and running projects mapped. First quick wins, and a plan with an end date on the table.

2

Delivery

Execution along measurable milestones, with monthly reporting to management or the steering committee. Decisions get made — with a mandate, not with memos.

3

Handover

Successor recruited and onboarded, or the team ready to continue independently. Documented, secured and phased out gradually.

Transparent engagement
  • On a daily-rate basis, usually 3 to 4 days per week — full-time is possible in crisis situations
  • Direct contract, no intermediary agency and no margin
  • Cancellable monthly after the start-up phase — the results must justify the mandate
  • End point and handover are defined at the start, not at the end

Interim IT leadership

Manufacturing company, multiple sites

The IT manager left unexpectedly in the middle of a system renewal. As interim IT manager, team and vendors were stabilised, the running project replanned and the recruitment of a successor guided.

Result: continuity secured, successor onboarded and handover completed within 9 months.
Turnaround

Wholesaler, stalled ERP project

An ERP implementation was completely stuck after two years: budget well exceeded, mutual distrust between vendor and business. The project was rescoped, the contract renegotiated and the go-live phased.

Result: go-live achieved, extra costs contained and the vendor relationship restored.
Integration after acquisition

Logistics group, acquisition of a competitor

Two IT environments, duplicate contracts and a tight deadline from the shareholders. The integration was led from analysis to execution: one system landscape, cleaned-up contracts, one IT team.

Result: integration delivered within the deadline, with a structurally lower annual IT cost.

Two formulas, one house.

DV Advisory works in two clearly separated formulas. Don't know yet what needs to happen? Start with a scan. You do know, but the execution is missing? Then you're in the right place.

Scans & IT governance

  • Fixed price, fixed scope, short lead time
  • Review of costs, security, infrastructure and AI
  • For operational SMEs (50–200 employees)
  • Result: report with concrete figures

  • Leadership and execution inside your organisation
  • For mid-sized and large companies and investment firms
  • Result: realised change

DV Advisory Consulting is the mandates branch of DV Advisory, led by David Verhelst: senior IT leader with extensive experience leading IT organisations, teams and complex change trajectories.

You don't get an account manager and no juniors — you get the person who executes the mandate. Independent of vendors, without reselling or commission: every decision is taken in your interest.

And every mandate ends deliberately: with a secured handover, an onboarded successor or a team that can continue independently. Whoever makes themselves indispensable hasn't done their job.
